Lachlan Coote pledges himself to Penrith

AFTER winning the race to start the season as Panthers fullback, Lachlan Coote last night pledged he would end his career at Penrith.

Penrith's off-season has been consumed by debate over whether Coote could defy Michael Gordon's challenge for the No.1 jersey.

PENRITH pair Michael Gordon and Lachlan Coote are locked in a fight for the Panthers' fullback role, with Gordon confident he can get back to his impressive 2011 form.

Coote made the No.1 role his own after taking over from Gordon who ruptured his right anterior cruciate ligament in Round 10.
